Apprehensions Carried Out in Link to Massive Unlawful Landfill

Two individuals have been detained as an element of an probe into the dumping of several thousand of tons of rubbish in a open field in Oxfordshire, England.

Authorities stated that a 69-year-old was apprehended at a dwelling in Hampshire's Andover, while a man in his fifties was detained in the town of Slough in connection with the huge heap of waste dumped near Kidlington.

"The government is committed to stamping out this type of criminality across the UK, by augmenting financing to combat environmental crime, hiring more officers and introducing tougher controls and fines for those who flout the law."

The arrests were executed on the specified day by officers from a regional organised crime unit and follow an prior detention of a 39-year-old from the Guildford area region in the autumn. He was set free pending further investigations.
