Iran Reports Assault on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the United States has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
